33rd Reading 2021 - Minha vida na America - Beatriz Hoffman

This was probably the best book I read this year and not because it is by a Brazilian author but because it is a very inspiring story that reminds of my own story. It is about pursuing your dreams no matter what you need to do to achieve them. It is about immigrating to another country without money and without anything, barely knowing the lanaguge. It is about having to leave a comfortablee life in house and in your work to live in a complete different place with different culture and costumes. It is about having to work your soul out to make things happen, from baby sitting to clapping in the theater. Beatriz is a warrior and she puts her stories on paper in a way that catches and makes you want to keep reading to know what is next. And she is not done yet, after all these years of hard work, she is finally about to get her green card to consolidate her dream of living in the United States.
